my microphone choices in the studio these days are much more about what TYPE of mic (LDC v SDC, ribbon, dyn) than brand or model

it's pretty rare for a mic to be completely wrong, almost anything can work, just get to the music

if I hear one more soloed kick drum for an hour while picking mics 🥵

no, I don't know enough to judge your choice, not sure I would/should anyway... just like getting working artist perspectives on the options out there. I have a few friends who are going this route, and I'm watching Patreon, Stan, Medium, Substack, YouTube, etc to see which is most viable and why
