No, massive layoffs are happening and are not limited to tech.

With the power of the internet and manpower - it's not perfect, but we can certainly start organizing. The point is not to do "perfect" execution - the point is "DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING."

However, the issue is that there are no "Private sector" jobs either.

I hope this does not sound harsh, but you could start by creating a blue-dot network in your state and electing democratic local-level civil servants. You have to start somewhere to make the "dot" a pond, to a lake, and to an ocean.

There are 17 democratic states and 11 split states. 2400 CDC workers are laid off so we need $360 million a year total to hire all back. That's $13m per state. Of course California, NY, Washington, Illinois can shoulder more but it's not impossible budget wise to do.

I understand the facts. But it is important for us to do something. Do anything. Rather than talking about it's difficult - it's the time for us to make difficult things happen.

Like: 1. Create a database of the people who got fired. 2. Assess where those people live. 3. State CDC hires those people back. 4. States who want to collaborate create a network of state-to-state research connections and work in unison. We need to do something. anything.

Can each state re-hire federal workers and try to fill the gaps? This is very scary
