This pretty much sums it it up. And tbh, it’s not just America. the Baha’i view is that human society in general is in a stage comparable to adolescence. We have the tools and information we need to advance to maturity, we just simply don’t want to yet.

Shoghi Effendi & UHJ have said that eventually western Baha’is will be persecuted once the powers that be become sufficiently aware of us. Perhaps not in exactly the same form as our coreligionists in the Islamic world, but nevertheless inevitable. It’s the usual response to new revelations.
