I'm really into it! It took me a run or two but I'm now pretty hooked.

The only drawback I've found so far is I can't stop singing "Drop the Duchy on the left hand side" in my head while I play

Tried Drop Duchy on a whim having never even heard of it before and it's really good! Bit of Tetris, bit of city-building, bit of deck-building. I'm a bit stuck (skill issue) with the second faction but it's a lovely chill game with plenty of depth.

Year 43:

I don't know if this is good or bad (it feels fundamentally unfair to me, but I'm not an elite football coach). But I do think that familiarity matters a lot when you're on the fringes. Course it's like the "how can I get experience without you giving me a job" quandary

I'm not disagreeing here FWIW - but maybe it's simply that she's more of a known quantity within the England setup (u23s etc) = greater visibility to Wiegman etc = next player up as a squad selection? See it with men's squads too, it can be hard to get into that "inner circle" as a fringe player.

Game 32: Sheffield United - Middlesbrough 2, Bramall Lane, Championship. Entertaining game, both sides could've scored a bundle but in the end that feels like the right result. One side freewheeling (to good effect), the other super efficient and well coached in possession.

Very chill about tonight's Superbowl. Seahawks would be worthy winners and the Patriots feel like they're playing with house money getting there this season. Barring unforeseen catastrophe the Pats seem to have locked in coach and QB for the future and have a boatload of cap space for next year.
