Completely unexpected performance. With Macedonia being undefeated I expected a close, hard-fought victory at best. People will say ‘it’s only Macedonia’ but I am delighted with that. An excellent performance. Still more work to do though

He’s not a bad player at all. I wasn’t sold on him when we bought him (and I say that as a Welshman) but nobody can say he hasn’t been a successful signing for Spurs. There’s more than enough evidence

Je’von Evans should be on the main roster. That match with Gunther was a banger

I’m delighted with that. Been a long two years. Still a real long way to go to get this team where it should be though.

I missed that Fa Cup run, didn’t get into football until 1994. Euro 96 was a great tournament, probably my personal all-time favourite. So many great moments, Poborsky, Suker, Seaman save v Scotland, Sheringham & Shearer vs the Netherlands…I do remember Gazza’s desperate dive for a tap in though

Simply growing up had that effect on me. As a Welshman it’s hard to admit that I cried as an 11 year old when Germany knocked them out of Euro 96.

Hahaha no, the reasoning for age verification. If I didn’t have kids already I’d be there too

I agree with the reasoning but not the concept

We were probably expected to!

Oh no I meant age verification. If you don’t do it, and you’re in the UK certain features are disabled, like DMs. Do they do blue ticks here?
13.11.2025 21:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
Ask for what? I just posted that out of courtesy as I received a DM and I didn’t want to publicly tell that person. I assume people DM because they don’t want it to be public.
13.11.2025 21:52 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
I’m not verified on here and I have no intention of doing so. Means I can’t see DMs, I’m not ignorant!

Not to discredit them at all but I was expecting Forest to drop off, I think I had them finishing 8th when they were still in the top four. It was half hopeful/half ‘I’ve seen this before’ on my part though. Same way we have often been top/close to top 10-15 games in. You know it’s not gonna last

6/8, not bad. Always thought Lacazette was more wasteful but then I guess this covers his time in France too. Cavani not as good as I thought he was?
13.11.2025 21:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
I’ll have a go:
Lewandowski less
Cristiano Ronaldo more
Sonny more
Lacazette less
Aubamayang less
Immobile more
Cavani more
Dzeko less

The way we are playing is a double-edged sword. If we get the result then nobody cares, the job is done. Doesn’t matter how we got there. But then if the results drop off it looks even worse and people aren’t happy. In an ideal world we would always play well & win, but that’s not always possible.

Imagine after 38 games, you’ve finished 4th but xG is saying you should’ve barely avoided relegation. It’s silly and makes no sense.
13.11.2025 20:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
I dislike how it’s used to say that we should be lower in the table. The table doesn’t lie.
13.11.2025 20:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 3 📌 0
And that is where it is useful. If the xG is significantly lower than goals scored it suggests that the team is clinical and makes the most of the chances it creates. Conversely if xG is high and goals scored significantly lower then buy a new striker!
13.11.2025 20:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
We’re getting off track now. How much people are paying for tickets is another issue entirely, and while I agree to an extent nobody is forcing anyone to buy a ticket. I don’t think booing the team during the match is good for anyone. You go to support. Save the discontent for the final whistle
13.11.2025 20:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
As you say the xG is simply an indicator of the quality of the chances created.
