Just remembered The Sandman audiobook which was either literally, or an approximation of, Gaiman reading the 'stage directions' of his original comic scripts with actors doing the dialogue. Very strange.

I know this isn't the issue here, but isn't the idea of a 'full cast' audiobook just a bit weird? Why not just do an actual dramatisation for audio?

I have some sympathy with that perspective, but also, see follow-up: I like that my flat was built and sorry to whoever had to move their prize radishes in 1958 or whenever.

I looked up the one in West Sussex, and sure, they are building houses on some allotments, but the development includes creating a new allotment site round the corner.
