Today, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Renewed Hope Transitional Housing, 57 housing units set up right here in D5! A huge thank you to Hope Co-operative, the County of Sacramento, and all of their community partners, who made this happen. It's moments like these that fill me with hope.

After many years of effort and collaboration, a long vacant lot will become affordable housing in Oak Park! This new senior housing in Oak Park will help our longtime neighbors stay rooted in the community they love.

This historic designation will ensure that the story of Land Park Lanes and its communities won’t be erased. I’m so proud we took this step as a council to honor its cultural and community significance, and I'm committed to seeing its legacy preserved for years to come!

Our first conversation about modernizing the Business Operations Tax was a success! We had critical discussions with licensed professionals across the city. Join us for the next one this Thursday, July 31st, where we will be speaking with local business associations. Hope to see you there!

“This is a vacant lot that has been that way for many years,” said Councilmember Caity Maple, who represents the area. “It has served very little purpose for the community. It’s going to be turned into 100% affordable senior apartments with 67 units.”
