Right now, working families are one rent hike away from being homeless. A recent study found a $100 increase in median rent = a 9% rise in homelessness. #AB1157, the Affordable Rent Act, would cap rent hikes at 5% and keep millions like Evelin, her family and neighbors, housed.

Sacramento to charge monthly fees at homeless shelters — a rare policy in US People living in the units would be required to 30% of their gross monthly income after an initial grace period of 90 days.

As the 4th-largest economy in the world, the fact that any CA city would charge our most vulnerable-- seniors, the disabled, veterans- to stay in decrepit homeless shelters is DEPLORABLE.

We have the wealth, but who is it for?

VICTORY! ACCE Los Angeles has won important changes to the city's code enforcement program that aims to make landlords more accountable for fixing bad conditions in their buildings. This comes as a result of successful organizing and the many public comments by ACCE members.
