All those “rules” you learned are more the baselines that on average a large group would say are “right,” but a good person in those fields knows you work with what the individual person finds attractive as well.

Yep, people who faves more closely align to a “golden ratio” face are generally found more attractive because they’re literally advertising their DNA produces more “beautiful” offspting. Our brains say beautiful = healthy good-working dna. We’re hard-wired to look for that to ensure life continues.

With faces, we generally like the ratios of spacing and size of things to fit the golden ratio or phi which is 1:1.618… since that’s the optimized lowest energy ratio that nature follows when building life in general. However, beyond that it’s subjective what things people find attractive.

There are some “tenets” of things that most people will find “pleasing,” like in interior design you put things into groups of three that you visually balance onto a shelf or countertop cause our brains find that pleasing.
