Even more reason to leave 'normal island'....
23.07.2025 09:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Went to a crochet workshop this morning... Maybe I finally understand the basics.
Obviously I shall spend all afternoon crocheting now to practice
The ridiculous thing is it will serve to rile up other Torygraph readers to feel that Labour are stealing something from them

Was she ok overnight?
Just putting it out there that as an autistic person I still wear underwear... I just found comfortable ones.
11.07.2025 08:29 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It was really fun actually, but at the same time the nearby parking that we found was limited to two hours so short and sweet
11.07.2025 08:27 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0We've agreed to do a social thing in the evening today (well 6 o'clock) and I'm not sure what we were thinking.... Urgh
09.07.2025 14:40 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Just found out the waiting list for Neurology up here is 2 years...
I will probably be able to see a consultant quicker once we have emigrated than I can do here.
How ridiculous
It's been an enjoyable dip into all things Manchester so far
04.07.2025 21:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Domino Day for a little bit of a wican feel too... Though I anticipate it might be absolute trash 🤣

04.07.2025 21:02 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Oh was that for the solstice? The beaches are really nice up here and that was a big suprise of getting to know Scotland a little better
20.06.2025 21:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Oh no!
Did you get hit in the spring storm as well or were you slightly further north than the big gusts?
Thank you!
How are the renovations going? I remember you mentioned a possible roof issue a while ago
So in general we're looking to move anyway, but we're not sure where up here we'd be able to get what we want with available budget at the moment. So we're thinking of leaving the UK to have a go somewhere else instead
20.06.2025 20:25 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0We haven't had any bother either, but we've had enough of the surroundings of the house (lots of people making noise in the park nextdoor and we've become very aware of the neighbours out making noise, and the road's too busy as it's a through road to other areas.
20.06.2025 20:25 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0How are you finding things? Is everything still going well?
20.06.2025 20:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I know. But when I've previously told people we're moving to Ireland they think Northern rather than the Republic of Ireland.
20.06.2025 20:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Oh yes absolutely. That's why we're going to Southern Ireland rather than NZ which would be my ideal
I absolutely don't want my dogs to have to travel in cargo and suffer plane hypothermia
I can understand that kind of pain.
Leaving Manchester was harder due to long-standing connections whereas we've not been here long enough to build up the same connections I guess
Economic constraints are a big hinderance to moving, but I don't think that's going to get better any time soon to make leaving less expensive
20.06.2025 13:24 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Leaving Manchester was definitely a hard move, but we've only been here a few years now so there's less pull to be honest
20.06.2025 13:21 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's definitely a big consideration. But even the economic situation here doesn't feel great, especially with continued reliance on the US rather than looking to Europe
20.06.2025 13:20 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That's a shame, was it work related or health related (my partner wouldn't be able to get residency in some countries due to a medication she takes)
20.06.2025 13:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Would you leave the UK now if you had the chance?
We were planning to leave in 27, but now debating leaving next year instead
Some semi proved wholemeal dough
I'm making bread and trying to supress another urge to learn to crochet again...
A totally normal day off
Such a significant step, but still not full decriminalisation and it's more than 150 years after it was introduced
