🧵🧪🌊 Further to my post yesterday about the lack of new sea ice formation in the Bellingshausen Sea (lower left in maps here), the region has now been almost ice free for more than three months. Map on left shows sea ice concentration on 1st Feb. Map on right shows concentration on 1st May.

When you compare this graph with the one for ages 55-64 you can see they are very similar to each other. Also they are not very different from graphs for the same age group in other countries, the lines are a little higher but compared with the younger we can see that for these age groups the United States death rates are similar to the rest of the economically developed world. The thing you will not find for other countries that I have included here are differences by state equivalents, if they have them, that show differences. As far as I can find I am the only researcher who who has looked at political party effects on death rates. Look at the text for the second map; for the data used to make this graph.
