Trump administration plans to eliminate the Energy Star program after 3 decades Launched in 1992, EPA's Energy Star has saved consumers more than $500 billion in energy costs, according to the federal program.

For every federal $ spent, ENERGY STAR saves consumers $350 -- but the Trump Administration wants to get rid of it. To quote Sen. Whitehouse, “It's yet another giveaway to polluters and a raw deal for working families.”
