Centrist. London. Pro EU. Rejoiner. Democracy is under threat, not only from the dictators & authoritarians that occupy the planet, but also from within existing democracies. Private power + wealth is being used to overturn & threaten our democracy.

He's a sound & decent man, in a world of twisters & liars. One look at the potential political opposition, should have people running to support Starmer. Does the UK want a leader like Trump?. The US run by a bunch of 'mobsters', for financial & political power. There's no alternative to Labour. ๐ŸŒน

The MSM news media and the BBC in particular, must take the major share of the blame. They've acted as agent provocateurs
fuelling hate and the mob. They should be ashamed, but the people in those organisations are not. They take their fat salaries and obey orders from the top.

SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. Itโ€™s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.

Trump was never near to winning it. Only, in his petty and avaricious mind, was he close. A good result. The Committee, has held up its impartial reputation.

Renewables overtake coal as world's biggest source of electricity Developing countries lead the historic clean energy charge but the US and EU rely more on fossil fuels than before, a think tank study shows.

Renewables overtook coal as the worldโ€™s top source of electricity in the first half of 2025.

This is an significant turning point. We must continue this momentum by increasing investment in renewables and backing innovative technology that will help us to reach net zero.

Good point. I suspect 2 reasons. Fear of media outrage, ie giving them huge, news 'ammunition' to use against the Govt. Secondly, the sheer size of the job of reforming all the 'watchdogs' that exist. The BBC is undergoing a review for their Charter due in 2027. All Board members expire before 2028.

The UN carve up, which gave the majority of the land, to the Israelis, even though the Palestinians outnumbered the Israelis 2:1. They even split the Palestinian land into two seperate areas!

The legacy of Tory rule. They've left the people they want in the right places. The BBC is the prime example. Critical positions occupied with Tory/Reform sympathisers.

We're lucky to see what's happening in the US. It's a big warning. We're one general election behind them in the UK. If Reform/Tories get power, then the same will happen here. The prospect is frightening, yet a big section of the electorate will vote for it, not realising this is their future too.

Until Palestinians get justice, the conflict, at varying intensity will continue. The problem is, the Israelis don't want to give them that justice. Quite the opposite. They seek expansion of the state of Israel onto Palestinian land. It's a David and Goliath situation, except David loses.

Labour have so far rolled out free breakfast clubs to 750 primary schools across England, with work already starting on the next 2000.

These are actual policies delivering real change and improvements to real people.

Here Michela tells us how she is benefiting.

When it comes to Arctic security, Europe must not forget about the economics European Arctic strategies have tended to downplay the links between security and economic interests. In an increasingly tense geopolitical environment, this connection is key.

The Arctic is emerging as one of the key geo-economic and geostrategic flashpoints of the 21st century.

The right, is destroying the once mighty Conservative Party. The left, nearly made the Labour Party unelectable. Thankfully, New Labour saw them off and had a record period in office. Hopefully, that can be replicated by the current Govt. It would transform the UK for the better.

I don't hold much faith in polls. They can be manipulated. If Reform are so good electorally, how come they keep losing council by-elections?.
