This tiny guy was found on the same tree as the oyster mushrooms we found today. I couldn't make out that spider silk with a naked eye in person. So very tiny.
This fungi was hanging out all by its lonesome on the decaying side of this otherwise thriving cedar.
This tree was stock full of turkey tail fungi. On various states of being, from fairly freshly emerged, with stark white undersides, seen on the right side and older just beginning to rot ones seen on the left.
I always love finding these tufts of lichen, I believe this one is a Hypogymnia inactiva, common name Mottled Tube Lichen. It reminds me of Tribbles from Star Trek, but cooler because they're real and they're formed by a symbiotic relationship relationship between 2 distinct species, 1 fungi and another species, either alga or cyanobacteria, and that's still mind-blowing, or should be. 2 different species decided to give it a go and this is what we get. Gorgeous!

If it's not still alive, itwas until fairly recently. I didn't poke or prod to find out, but just admired and let it be.
I think this stump may still be alive.
The inside has succumbed to rot but the exterior was barely hanging on with help from its surrounding tree-mates via the Wood-Wide-Web.
