Two new Naval Cassidy pictures made by the fantastic photographer Emily Farthing. More to come.

It's been a while since my last post. I was in Newfoundland last month. I thought it would be nice to share some interesting pictures with you all. Go if you can.

I'll try to upload something I have been working on soon.

Amazing set from Swell Maps C21 last night. Only Jowe Head from the original line-up, always a pleasure to see @davidlancecallahan.bsky.social who brings some of the anger of his other band Wolfhounds. Would be great to see Luke Haines with them, he's at the Hare later this year with Peter Buck.

It’s not fair. When I first saw them going up years ago around Central Park I knew there would be more. And what they stand for is pretty hideous as well.

Those glass buildings are ridiculously ugly. And dangerous to wild life and magnify the sunlight to boil people on the street below. I hate them.

This magical picture shows the Milky Way (left) and an auroral oval (right) that resemble a giant cosmic flower.
Pareidolia makes the Milky Way resembles a stem to which a corolla, the aurora, is linked.

What is this? A gigantic flower blooming in the night sky?

Obviously not.

It's about the Milky Way (left) and an auroral oval (right), captured by GΓΆran Strand (astrofotografen.se) in Oct 2022 across a little lake in Abisko, Sweden.

Astronomer here! If anyone needs a distraction, check out the GORGEOUS radio galaxies MeerKAT in South Africa imaged this weekend that were incidentally in my field of view. Both host supermassive black holes shooting material at relativistic speeds, hundreds of millions of light years away...

The image features a pair of interacting galaxies, an elliptical and a spiral, caught in the early stages of a merger. The pair is named Arp 107. The collision distorted the shapes of the galaxies, creating a tenuous gas bridge between them and a tidal tail.

Breathtaking!
This image from #JWST provides a wealth of information about Arp 107, a pair of interacting galaxies caught in the early stages of a merger.
It's therefore an extraordinary window into the interaction between 2 galaxies,
