Fat folks still face discrimination all over the place. The world isn't built for us even though we are in fact the majority in the United States.

I don't know if I can even make a coherent point here. I just needed to rant.

And the biggest thing that has hurt about all of it has been the continual revelation that so many people who pretended to be fat positive were not.

Everyone who you thought was okay with their bodies secretly never wanted to look like you.

What happens when the drugs that make you magically not hungry anymore run out? What happens when you can no longer afford them because insurance stopped covering them?

The same thing that always happens. It comes back even faster.

I just don't fucking get it man.

We also all recognize how much damage was done by diet culture in the '90s. Not just to mental health but physically speaking. Everybody fucked up our metabolisms.

But because now these drugs exist we're doing the same thing to people all over again and pretending the outcome will be different.

We all recognize that it's unhealthy to lose weight super fast. We all recognize that it's impossible to keep weight off that you have lost unless you keep doing the thing that made the weight loss happen. That's been proven over and over again.

But here the fuck we are.

I'm really not handling the fact that we are right back into '90s diet culture very well.

We swung into body positivity, people accepting themselves, and then as soon as it became socially acceptable, everyone just went JUST KIDDING, I NEVER WANTED TO BE FAT

That's so many people! And it does make such a big difference in your colorectal cancer risk!!! It's easier than folks think if you just eat more fruits & veg.
