That's extra terrifying
10.11.2025 15:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0moose are definitely magic in a similar way to cats. Cats will phase through walls and teleport to where they want to go, levitate when startled etc. Moose are less subtle. If there's no gap, they'll make one. If there's no path, they'll make one. The landscape just gets out of their way
10.11.2025 15:35 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Is buildings insurance a thing there? In theory, for a reasonable monthly sum it should cover all the structural stuff but we all know what insurance companies are like
10.11.2025 15:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's rent, only you're paying it to the bank and at least they can't tell you you're not allowed pets or to hang pictures. On the other hand, good luck saving enough to deal with emergency repairs.
10.11.2025 15:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I thought if the hole isn't moose-sized, the moose makes the hole moose-sized.
10.11.2025 15:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0(note - this is about areas where we don't have megafauna to keep vegetation growth in check. Obviously areas with moose and similar are going to have moose-width trails and much more spaced-out growth)
10.11.2025 14:52 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The only trails are where trees have fallen or herbivores have stubbornly kept eating away young growth for generations. I imagine fleeing anything more suited to the terrain than we are would be next to impossible.
10.11.2025 14:47 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The ground is all humps and hills from where trees have fallen and decomposed, or where glaciers dropped huge rocks. The trees don't politely put out branches a little above head height. They grow as close together as they can without outcompeting each other.
10.11.2025 14:47 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yup. "Don't step off the path or you might end up lost and starving or eaten by wild animals".
I think people forget how big and dense the woods used to be before industrialisation and various wars triggered significant logging. Especially in Europe. Ancient woodland is *thick*.
Yes please. My neck is causing headaches
10.11.2025 12:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0RIP your sofa cushions
10.11.2025 12:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today: "no, I want to check my scraped knee without you trying to lick it, thank you"

09.11.2025 23:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I got @'ed by one the other day. Lemme see if I can find it
09.11.2025 22:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You know the one. Weight on your elbow, arm bent, head resting on your wrist which is also bent to the limit, almost exactly the same as the 'tism-rex sleeping position.
How do you NT folks without hEDS sleep? because I really don't know how to sleep without compression.
Ha. Ha.
So I've been working with scissors, so my right thumb and forefinger are numb and tingly.
But the last week or so I've also had pain in my left elbow from doing the 'tism lean so hard.
Still working out the details, but human x gnoll M/TM romantasy

09.11.2025 17:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0And rescues especially. They've usually got so much trauma from losing their first family that going back to the rescue a second time breaks their spirits. Nobody wants to do that to their pet.

09.11.2025 08:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yeah, "Rosie budge up" and "can I have some leg room?", because it might be my bed but I need permission.
09.11.2025 08:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"what's in your mouth....drop it.... No that doesn't mean chew faster while running away!"
"Can you please go and lick your bottom somewhere else?"
"Feet off the keyboard!"
"Get your head out of the hedge you weirdo"
Folks, if you are hungry, please contact your local Sikh gurdwara. Or just show up for langar, which most gurdwaras do several times a week, for a free meal. Lots also do weekly or monthly drives giving out groceries.
No conversion necessary. Feeding anyone who is hungry is a key part of Sikhism.
"not for dogs"
"I'm watching you" *leaves the room* "I'm still watching you" *from bathroom* "I'm still watching you!"
"No, you don't get a chicken nugget for being naughty"
"Yes, I hear you. I'm answering the door, you can stop barking."
"I love you but can I have some personal space?"
I often caught my last housemate explaining his work to the dog. To the dog's credit, she will look at things she's presented with, even if they're uninteresting to dogkind. She pretends to look at my pictures when I ask.
