Emily VanDerWerff reacts to Singal’s pile-on of her here and, two days later, discusses the aftermath of that pile-on (which included “Death threats, rape threats, invitations to commit suicide, constant misgendering, etc”). Ari Drennen took screenshots of Singal targeting Aja Romano. Because Singal’s attack on Emily VanDerWerff was premised on his false presumption that she was trying to get one of her employers fired (which she has denied), lots of other writers began coming forward with stories of Singal contacting their employers and editors because he disliked what they wrote. Here are some of those instances: Jul 7, 2020 – Katelyn Burns on Singal “repeatedly emailing my employer until they fired me” is found here. A week later a co-worker corroborated that story. i don't have object permanence issues. i have existence permanence issues

i'm trying to get more in the habit of sending friends loving messages every once in a while but it's hard when i forget things (people, objects, tasks) exist if they're not in front of me

i thought it was decent, but i don't like how they treated L3-37 at the end. i think the plot twist is contrived and undermines the themes in a way that leaves a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. but the movie is enjoyable

I guess I get worried that it's inevitably going to get used for the "trans people need to be eliminated through XYZ 'therapeutic' treatments" machine (or the "you can only be trans if you have This Thing" machine), but considering that machine already exists and is quite active.... [shrug]

I don't know if I agree that you need a neurological theory to get trans people what they need, but I'm also not strongly committed to that position.

Something AGP theorists and pro-CSA people have in common is using disciplinary packaging, like sexology or psychology, to house their social and political philosophies that are in themselves not really scientific.

AGP theory could be a poster child for this.

It's frustrating because I truly don't care what makes us trans, I mean ig it's interesting in a "knowledge is neat" way but it doesn't matter as to what we need (accessible (free) healthcare, housing, etc), but if you care about pushing back against ableist, eugenic propaganda you kinda have to.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
