Personal lore time: I think this screenshot is from the first time Butterbean and I raced together. February 2015. He finished 27th. But this is probably the closest I've come to winning an oval league race in iRacing. I'm in the 3 and was second in the closing laps. Finished 3rd going for the win.

On one hand, it feels weird that Butterbean is considered "old" when 10 years ago he was kicking our butts in iRacing on a weekly basis. On the other hand, that was 10 years ago.

If someone is getting what they want out of life, that assumes a clearly defined want. I'd argue that intelligent people struggle to define what they want because they are capable of doing almost anything if they decide to do it and then it becomes an impossible multivariable analysis.

And what got you into racing?

I've talked about this a lot over the last 10-20 years. The pursuit of the casual fan at the expense of the core fan. The core fan will spend thousands of dollars on your sport. The casual fan will watch it from the couch if it's the only thing on. But for some reason the casual is the target.

increasingly believe the most ignored people in sports are people who like sports already, there is this rabid effort to get people who are aware of sports but have opted out of consuming them to care that is probably a result of everything being taken over by Growth Mindset people
