Moral of the story: Buy kids bandaids. They're better, they're more fun, and after four days you'll have a surprise of "why is buzz lightyear on my leg? Oh yeah, scratched myself. It's probably good to come off now" and I think that's great

It's not that bandaids used to be better when I was a kid, it's that bandaids are better when they're marketed for kids bc they're thicker and made to stay on longer. I figured this out when I bought a big family pack of bandaids that included some toy story ones for kids

For a while now I've been having a "i feel like bandaids were more robust when I was a kid, I'd cut my hand and that'd stay on for days. Now I have to replace one every time I wash my hands" and it turns out it wasn't in my head! I was right! Ish.

It's bullshit that my antidepressants don't just completely fix me. What do you MEAN I still have to do work to take care of myself and my mental and emotional health??? Fucking absurd, I want a brain refund

Like no wonder I hated analyzing it in text format, it's something I intuit best by feel/sound. You know, as Shakespeare fucking intended it

Always hated analyzing iambic pentameter in HS, but one time I was reciting a Shakespeare sonnet for a very demanding teacher, & at the end she went "well you got some of the words wrong, but still somehow managed to stay in iambic pentameter" so I think it's just cause I intuit the rhythm

As someone who's taking accounting courses & learning so much more about corporate structures than I care to, a pokemon is absolutely NOT an employee, bc you have pay your employee wages. A pokemon is obviously a stonk, bc you can trade those

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Meryl Streep, but a triple threat the woman is not

Also, Wicked the movie cast 2 incredible triple threats as its lead, so everyone else could've been mid and it would've still been great. Into the Woods and Cats don't have main characters in quite the same way, so EVERYONE has to be triple threats, which is harder to cast for & still get famous ppl

or else just stick to the commercial successes like Wicked and Hamilton which - again, to be clear - are great musicals! They're just straightforward in terms of what they're offering and thus easy to adapt. Pippin, Into the Wood, Cats, or other technical/artsy musicals, maybe avoid

Which is not an inherently bad thing, to be clear, it just means that turning it into a movie really makes it pop in a way that those others didn't.

anyway, moral of the story, if you're gonna do a hollywood musical adaptation maybe get some actual theater ppl to consult if you want it good

So to make a truly GOOD Into the Woods movie adaptation, it should be done in a single shot. Again, too expensive and not enough of a cash grab for Hollywood to really commit to something like that. But Wicked was written to be what is functionally a disney movie anyway

Which would be a horribly expensive passion project, and therefore Hollywood would never do that. Into the Woods was also sort of mid (although better than Cats) bc it missed the point that it's a spectacle of sound and precise timing
