30.09.2025 17:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0a uniquely balanced and sharp take from one of my favorite designers. one of the few βpredictionsβ of a post-ai world (in design, creativity, and beyond) I can believe in.
fills me with bittersweet hope.

(granted the main idea is to not return it to the manufacturer himself, but still)
12.08.2025 10:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0on the other hand, isn't the story you're referencing exactly about returning the most hazardous product everβ’ to its place of manufacturing for disposal?
12.08.2025 10:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0it's more obvious when looking at it in reverse: podcast/interview transcripts. they're often hard to read
some sentences just keep going and going. some read like sudden interjections. speaker repeats some thoughts and never finishes others
but then you listen to it and it's all clear and natural
βvery coolβ

might be minor, but Figma greeted me with a βGo touch glassβ pop-up the other day (promoting the new liquid glass effect) and I can't stop thinking about how clever and delightfully cheesy that line is. peak copywriting.
24.07.2025 12:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0an interesting example is βWho Watches the Watchersβ where the crew of the Enterprise themselves become considered supernatural and have to be their own skeptics
21.07.2025 06:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0one of my favorite episodes, aptly titled, βLisa the Skepticβ deals with this very topic in a really thoughtful and emotional way
21.07.2025 06:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0significantly better β but only if the updated dialogue adds clear motivation to the characters and some coherence to the plot.
you can't talk your way out of some bizarre creative choices though.

D is the closest, but my criteria is
- offensively low-quality
- made to farm content or manipulate people
- no attempt at communicating an idea or creating smth beautiful/thoughtful
the word βslopβ is very apt as opposed to trash/junk/etc β a tasteless homogeneous mass cheaply made from scraps.
a great hot take. hate to admit it, but I now sometimes have to force a thought. and blank pages are more anxiety-inducing than ever.
but: Eric Hoel's analogy to Lucas's/Jackson's obsession with tools over substance is brilliant. AI as a green screen for thought is staying in my mind. thank you!
I personally wouldn't for the same reason: the abstracted rules of chess β the concept of chess. only its part.
e.g. βRulesβ is just one of a dozen sections in the wiki article for βChessβ
imo, it's like music theory vs music β an underlying construct that enables a grander, more subjective idea.
I agree, for the reason closest to 3.
to me, understanding chess is inseparable from understanding what chess *is*. the engine doesn't know that the knight looks like a horse, who Kasparov is, or the dramatic contrast of black and white.
I'd argue that even LLMs understand chess better.
i mean if you get born at β[your name] birthplaceβ there's not much you can do but fulfill your destiny

20.01.2025 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0People do, constantly, judge books by their covers. Thatβs why thereβs an aphorism.
So yes, design matters, presentation matters, detail matters.
On web pages, product UIs, long-form writing, brands, and how you show up for work (even over Zoom or Slack).
