Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

Federal government takes down labour strike data relied upon by unions, researchers Ministry says โ€˜stakeholders raised concernsโ€™ about data on its website, gives no timeline for republishing

Research on strikes and lockouts depends on consistent longitudinal data. We need it to identify trends & shifts in labour relations. Without good data, you canโ€™t properly analyze, compare & contextualize current labour conflicts.

What I always found interesting, especially in cycling, is that if one renders an adverse finding, the onus is on the athlete to proof that they are innocent. It seems like the inverse of the innocent until proven guilty principle that is being pioneered here.

Well done. Thatโ€™s the kind of environmental policy review to contextualize the Ford governmentโ€™s environmental track record in light of current policy proposals/legislative changes. We need the same for labour policies and the incremental loss of democratic oversight/ transparency in this province.

Has the nature of political scandals shifted in the past decade under populist right-wing governments? I do think so.

Fordโ€™s so-called Digital Platform Workersโ€™ Rights Act doesnโ€™t protect workers โ€” it protects Uber.

All it really does is help U.S. platform giants suppress wages, with Ford and Piccini setting up the system for them.

Thank you, Captain Canada.

Secret data reveals which low-scoring applicants still received millions of dollars from the Ford governmentโ€™s skills fund Secret government data obtained by the Star shows 26 applicants scoring 50 per cent or lower received $36.6 million from Premier Doug Ford's controversial Skills Development Fund earlier this year.

It reveals several with scores of 50 or less where the minister overruled civil servants to hand out the money anyway. #OnPoli
