I mostly just coexist with slugs until they attack my food. It’s just garden tax.

As soon as I have more flowers!! Right now it’s hellebore and heather and a few snowdrops. My camellia is getting close and daffodils are coming.

Ugh sorry.

It’s been so weird this winter here but opposite reason— my snowdrops are blooming and daffodils are coming in and it feels so early. We didn’t have a freeze until mid January.

These are our dogs: Millicent Smoky Mayhem (Millie, Silly Millie, Big Buttski Muttski) is our big brown lab/GSP and Lucille “Loony Tunes” (Lucy, Licky Lu) has the white tummy and sock

My hellebore are blooming and they are really lovely. The garden is almost ready to turn over for a new spring season and that makes me happy too, even though it means a ton of work because I’ve let it get wild over the winter.

Oh how nice to have a whole area for them! Mine are just jammed in amongst other stuff so I have a pop of color in the winter, along with my purple heather.

I hope they are lovely!!

Thanks! I saw it somewhere on the internet years ago but it’s one of the best ways because they generally face downward.

Depends! I’ve seen huge ones. My larger ones are 16-18 inches tall and maybe 18-24 around. The smaller ones are just 8-10 tall. They bloom on new growth so you can cut them back in the summer. This is one of my more established ones in the back. The older blooms are turning green/beige.

I love those. They are all from the same plant— just varied by bloom and age.

Oh wow. Yeah, I want more that have that pink edging. My mom has one and I love it.

Hellebore season! The slugs are obviously finding them popular as well, but it’s a small price to pay to have blooms in midwinter. #bloomscrolling 🌱 #flowerreport

My general rule of thumb is Tylenol for headaches and fever, Advil for inflammation and muscle pain.

For stubborn pain you can alternate them every few hours so they sort of layer; just don’t exceed recommended dosages.

Went down memory lane for a personal project and came upon this picture from years ago that was really worth a second look. Calla lilies on the bluff at Bandon, Oregon. So soothing. I can almost smell the sea air. #bloomscrolling #flowerreport

No. Commonsense reform is to burn ICE to the waterline and scatter the rubble so that all of us who value a constitutional republic with a Bill of Rights can prevent such a monstrosity from ever being constructed again.
And nothing above is hyperbole.

God, but you are not a leader for this time.

We were poor farmers (I presume) in Europe (Ireland and Austria) who became poor farmers and factory workers in the Midwest before migrating West. Nothing fancy, that’s for sure.

I think of a deck as a separate structure like you could take it off without damaging the structure of the house, unlike a porch. Our back deck is covered. So maybe people would call it a porch. We call it the deck.

It absolutely is. We have dinner out there in nice weather and it’s so nice for hanging out. We built it so we could have an outdoor space that was safer for gathering earlier in the pandemic. No regrets!

You can do it! We started with all lawn and dug this out and put in the flagstones and by we I mean my partner did that.

I have this! A flagstone patio in the front yard, surrounded by flower beds. And we sit out on it in the warm evenings and wave at people walking their dogs etc.

Oh! Maybe that’s what I have in the front. I never call it anything because it’s basically just a few stairs. But I love a stoop.
