Outside of Minnesota, the overwhelming majority of Democrats viewed him as an annoying gadfly at best. He was one of the only politicians who took positions based upon his convictions of what was best for the American people and not the donor class or some tested focus group.

FWIW, it’s a crime what has happened to all those great places in our lifetime.
