Es ist halt auch alles so unendlich lΓ€cherlich.

Es ist ein Gleichgewicht von Terror und LΓ€cherlichkeit.

The tiny toad's grumpy face is quite amusing, but it's unlikely to be related to any human mood, it's just a natural expression for the species.

The weed number is now 582 due to inflation

Inflation doesn't directly impact the arbitrary numbers assigned to strains of cannabis, this seems like misinformation.

The Orange County Chopper meme of two guys fighting, back and forth from frame to frame:
"I'm feeling anxious and I can't figure out why!"
"It might just be your mast cells, take an antihistamine!"
"Not everything is mast cells, okay?!"
"Just take a fucking antihistamine and see!!!"
half hour later "I'm feeling better now, thank you!!!!!"

Take care of yourself, friends. That's first and foremost. You didn't break the world. You're not going to unbreak it by breaking yourself.

We're all going to have to find places to lend our efforts. But remember yourself. You're important.

A scene with inky darkness. The moon blots out the sun and ring of fire appears in the sky. The horizon looks like sunset and the golden color reflects in the lake. Three people in the bottom right corner look up. They are in silhouette.

Remember the eclipse back in April?

Since eclipses are rare I practiced camera settings and timing... then changed travel plans, watched the weather like a hawk, and ended up driving quite a bit. It all worked out. I'm proudest of this image and would love to do projects like this more often.

Given the level of disinformation, foreign/malign input & the algorithm musk uses to push his agenda & quash anything remotely liberal, why would that site be considered to be useful in any way? Users trying to combat the BS over there are simply screaming into the void. It will only get worse.

TL;DR

C19 probably thins your bones and makes you prone to broken bones.

The cytokines that fight infection mediate the changes.

When an article says "some scientists think" then remember this: I, a scientist, once thought I could fit a whole orange in my mouth. I could, it turns out, get it in there, but I hadn't given sufficient thought to the reverse operation.

This is so cool!

Retrotransposons activate during pregnancy to force a swift creation of new RBCs. An example of "junk DNA" being incredibly useful.

And yes, interesting re: cases of #MECFS after pregnancy or recovery after pregnancy. πŸ§ͺ www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Penn Study Finds Serotonin Reduction Causes Long COVID Symptoms Patients with long COVID can exhibit a reduction in circulating levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin, according to new research published today in Cell.

Long COVID patients experience lower serotonin levels because of reduced tryptophan absorption, which can result in symptoms like brain fog and memory loss. The serotonin disruption also impacts vagus nerve signaling, further contributing to long COVID symptoms.

For anyone interested in the pathophysiology of MECFS there’s a nice infographic here from this article; www.jci.org/articles/vie...

LOTS more research needs to be done of course.

In clinical practice the vascular dysregulation is something I very much recognise 🧡
