Yeah I'm staying cautiously optimistic but I'm enjoying it so far. It's nothing mind blowing but it's really refreshing to have old monsters return and be used in an interesting way that plays to their strengths. Fingers crossed it ends as strong as it's begun

Not bad, not as good as the original but developing Judy and Nick's relationship was the highlight. Lots of fun, I'm once again down bad for half the characters, so that's a good sign

Honestly I wouldn't even be that mad with Disney's live action remakes if they were just directed well. Not only do you strip the original of any stylistic fun by no longer having it be animated but you don't even dare to have fun cinematography or directorial flare for fear of being too unrealistic

Because famously no fully grown adult would ever enjoy a film unless it's hyper realistic. Much better than having a film that has any kind of fun animation whatsoever
