Photo of a developing slime mold on dead, brown leaves on the forest floor. The slime mold looks like several tight groupings of tiny bright yellow tubes on wire-like stalks.

Stemonitis slime mold aka Chocolate Tube Slime Mold. This one is part way through the maturation process. In a matter of hours, this will have turned brown, eventually becoming fluffy and blowing away in the wind or dispersing by way of rain drops, or other disturbances. NWT, Canada.

I do ribs. Dry rub and rest overnight in fridge. Place them with ribs against the side if you can. I found it doesn't really matter. 8 hours later take em out, put on baking sheet, brush with sauce and place under broiler for a few minutes until the char on the sauce is how you like it. Mmmm.

60 miles above the Arctic Circle in Alaska

A long pier stretches across the frame at sunset, its dark supports reflected in wet sand. Low clouds form layered ripples across the sky, shifting from deep blue to purple and orange near the horizon. Small waves roll in beneath the pier, and warm light glows along the waterline and reflections.
