It's honestly bonkers that the Portland Streetcar doesn't have signal priority. It would instantly change the face of public transportation in Portland and likely be a fairly simple change.

I hate that it's faster to walk along the streetcar line than take the Streetcar sometimes, especially with how low the frequency can be

We as a society fund public services for the common good. These are the same people that complain about having to see homeless people while in the same breath decry their high taxes.
