Yes, you will often find white flights associated with depigmentation of other parts of the plumage. She also has depigmented toenails and I think her eye might be slightly depigmented too.

Beautiful! I know that view. I lived over there for many years, in the Rhins. Sort of reminded me of this, possibly inspired by the view from a similar location, maybe more over at the Isle of Whithorn.

Can you see if it has feathered feet? Looks a lot like a Hungarian house pigeon and likely an escapee from a domestic loft. May have an identity ring too, making it possible to trace the owner.

May also be one of the Trumpeter varieties. I would need a proper look at it but it is a pigeon, a domestic pigeon.

It is a pigeon, a black mottle. I can't see it's feet, but if it has feathered "boots" then it is likely a Hungarian House pigeon or a derived cross.

I had one years ago, not white like this, he was dilute blue, bronze and powdery effect, nice pigeon. He would somersault all the time. Like this colour in the photo.

When they fly they do somersaults, just for fun.

It looks like a Turkish Takla Tumbler pigeon.

No, real. Brunner pouter.

It is real, a brunner pouter in the colour "Isabel".

So this is an actual breed, it's a Spanish pouter called the Marchenero. Without showing AI any images, someone gave it the written breed standard and asked it to generate an image from that, using the written standard as the prompt. Last photo shows what it came up with.

It is actual, Danish Tumbler. How about this one?

I hear you. Weirdly, the attempts I have seen at AI generated ones are very obviously AI. Though I do wonder if that is the case for those not familiar with fancy pigeon breeds.

I know they have had bad press in the past about extreme varieties suffering as a result of over-developed mutations. All of these varieties, kept in suitable conditions, are just as healthy as less extreme varieties. I don't know any fanciers who would allow a pigeon to suffer.

Shame, there will be others though, it's just that this could be considered the "main" one, bit like Crufts, generally the better quality on display here. I'll try and get into the habit of posting dates of other events. Mostly January now.
