Don’t be mad at the artists, be mad at the assholes who who greenlit this terrible hedonistic idea. AI or not, severely altering a film to the point it is by definition a completely film, is an affront, especially a classic. If anything AI is just jingly keys to wave in front of idiot investors.

Did people not realize this? So much of “AI content” is people trying to manually fix what AI shat out, because machine learning isn’t very good for broad non-hyper specific tasks. Like all the original footage had to be tracked, masked and comped manually.

And honestly, I call bullshit on that too when it had an IMAX release like a decade ago, they still presented it in 4:3 and did an upscale, like would the inside of the sphere not operate similar to one of the old dome IMAX’s and wouldn’t scaling it up fill most of the screen up anyway?

Like can we talk about how color wise, it doesn’t even look the same, like I wouldn’t be shocked if they AI’d some of the original footage itself, because some of the comparison angles of the shots are different and it has that really weird high contrast that GenAi images tend to have

Here's another insane thing: the movie's runtime has been cut from its original 102 minutes to a condensed 75 minutes to accommodate more daily screenings.

🫠 the fuck 75 MINUTES!?! also what is this shitty ass color grading, it doesn’t even look like the same film??? It looks so bright and too much contrast. So what you will about the Star Wars special editions, but at least they still look like they come from the same movie for the most part.

I fucking hate everything about this and am saying things I cannot repeat on main.
