Honestly, I could go on and on about how making choices about color, texture, silhouette, and layers can turn a plain outfit into a statement. But if you take a moment to choose your outfit deliberately, you can be a fashion superstar too.

He also varies the shape/silhouette of the other pieces. He is very lucky to have a number of statement pieces in his wardrobe. Pairing these more neutral colored but visually interesting pieces makes the hoodie a choice not merely what he threw on.

Then, to spice it up, he varied the materials. The hoodie is jersey so he added in denim, khaki, and whatever the hell puffer jackets are made out of. This creates visual interest. Your eye wants to roam the outfit instead of being transfixed on the ramen hoodie.

You want to choose one of the less used colors when you have something with such a bold print. The yellow is too strong so that's out but grwwn, brown, and white would make a nice contrast.

Did you notice how all of the outfits followed a similar color scheme? He knows color.

To style this you mustn't look at the whole but at the parts, namely the colors. To style things properly, you have to think color (and other things, but we'll get there). There are whites, beiges, brown, orange, green, and yellow to play with.
