Something I find fascinating is how some people have started using the word 'instruction' rather than 'education'. I think its probably linked to the idea that learning = memory and that this is being 'delivered' to learners, rather than learning being a relational, interactive experience.

Placing children’s wellbeing and their engagement in society as central purposes of education may reduce some of the conflict in the system…this is a great article considering systemic factors of EBSNA & difficulties in home-school relationships #edpsychs

That is awesome. We are so victims of our conditioning until we start the exploration of our biases and burdens. IFS is such a helpful tool for doing that ✨

Maybe not in your camp of interest but "No Bad Parts" by Dr. Schwartz, who developed the IFS model of healing. Life Changing.

The only thing that permanently helped me with my inner issues. IMHO should be compulsory reading if you're human. It's eye-opening and nails how the subconscious works 🧠

Perspective taking involves examining our own lenses that shape our perception especially when cultural stories have often come from dominant cultures, which likely serve privilege and power. Questioning our need to KNOW is a part of this process. Being a learner (curious, don’t know mind) is key

Compassion is often misunderstood as being ‘soft’. Compassion can be tough and gritty. It means staying with hard feelings, repairing after conflict & putting effort into wisdom & care ⏬
