For exploring/ organically stumbling upon stuff I didn’t already know about: I’ve had really good luck by finding a book I like, and either exploring other uploads of the user who uploaded it, or seeing if other users have added it to a collection on the given subject.

Downsides are: you kinda need to know what you want already, and their search isn’t great, I usually use duckduckgo search for book title + “archive.org” and have good results.

Honestly, I have pretty much exclusively been finding art ref for the past 6 months by looking at cool books on @archive.org

Tons of user archived content of pretty much any art/history/architecture/design book you could imagine.

Like if the possibilities for game mechanics within fly fishing are endless… fly selection, mending your drift, casting target, there are so many interesting options beyond “cast, wait, reel it in”

Someday I will make a fishing game about FLY FISHING. It irks me that every fishing game to ever exist features exclusively bait casting and or gear fishing, which are arguably the least exciting and technical types of fishing.
