Medical research gives us hope. It leads to better diagnostics, more effective treatments, and ultimately, less suffering. Every dollar raised helps us move closer to breakthroughs that can change lives. 🧪

I know this firsthand, not just as a scientist, but as a mum. My child lives with disabilities, and I’m very aware the impact these conditions have on families. The uncertainty, the constant medical appointments, and the hope for a better future. This is why I run and why I'm fundraising. 🧬

The research at CMRI, like mine, is to help the 1 in 20 children that are born with a birth defect or genetic disease. These aren’t just numbers — they’re real kids, real families. 💔

At CMRI, I study chromatin biology and genome stability — that is, I want to understand how the 3D structure of our DNA protects its integrity. When DNA integrity is lost and damage persists in the DNA, this is a major driving force disease development particularly for cancer.
