My main q: how much of that upward trend is bc the avg author increases their number of coauthors? Maybe a shift-share decomp is a clearer ask to show over time if the avg increases bc shares move toward more coauthors or bc the avg author increases the number of coauthors between periods.

BLS local area unemployment statistics go back to the 90s, but I would probably read the methodology because that is a very granular unit of obs to accurately measure population on an annual basis much less labor force participation.
