The Trump regime is now using US Attorneys to intimidate academic journals by sending them letters demanding they explain how they ensure ‘viewpoint diversity.’ Journal editors should be public about this and coordinate to refuse to comply with these fascist tactics.

My new piece with Typhaine Joffe argues that the US response to Salt Typhoon should emphasize cyber defense investment, and should lead to reconsideration of persistent engagement as an overarching cyber posture.

His dad was a really strange guy. I never spent all that much time with/around them, but looking back he seemed super controlling. Bad temper.

Urging Canadians not to "buy Canadian" so much as "buy not-US." We benefit from being integrated in a global trading order, and if the US is withdrawing from that, we have reason to strengthen trade with the rest of the world.

At one point as a kid I would have called him a friend too, but that was more than 30 years ago now.

His family were family friends of mine when I was younger. Truly bizarre to see where he wound up, politically.

We said goodbye to our wonderful beagle, Pepper, late on Tuesday. She was sick most of this fall, but fought bravely.

She came with us from Canada to Oklahoma, and brought incredible joy to our lives. There is a hole in our house now.
