My first roommate in college, who dropped out after first semester, told me while he was once front row at a Hoobastank concert the lead singer touched his head during a song and it was the greatest moment of his life.

I think about that all the time.

My grandpa took his life in 2011. He was sick and not always fully there and one day decided to hang himself in his garage. My grandma found him when she got home and opened the door from her car. I wish he felt he had another option. Glad other places are moving forward. May we follow, someday.

Also, The Land Before Time didn’t give you trauma. It taught you empathy and that your parents would die leaving you only ethereal mantras to navigate a world of chaos. Necessary lessons for toddlers.

When I was 5 my mom accidentally bought the Japanese 1975 version of The Little Mermaid. I watched it alone. I still remember every frame of the last 10 heart shattering minutes.
