There is a lot of great classic SF. But we are in an age of amazing contemporary SF that I would argue would appeal to precocious young readers better than many of the classics.

(I actually read Blindsight after a recommendation from my kid!)

I read and loved about 40* Xanth books but would never in a million years recommend them to a young person today! I'm of an era where ALL of our art was problematic.

There are two questions about the number of romance books published in the last two years and I answered "I don't know" because I rarely browse for books any more. I stick with trusted authors and trusted readers because I can't be sure what's real and what's plagiarized auto-complete.

I was a little offended at the question about how GenAI is most helpful in the romance industry. There are background tasks that could probably be handled with an ethically-trained custom GenAI, but somehow I doubt they'd bother. Just give Claude all the data!
