A guide to writing ALT-text there is a photo of a capybara chilling in the water. Around it is descriptive text describing the photo (colour, expression, description, identify who, interesting features)

Visually impairment is a wide spectrum.

Sometimes it's just nice to know the colours,
sometimes something needs to be pointed out because there isn't enough contrast,
sometimes people just want to know what's in the picture.

ALT-text isn't easy, but it helps.

I get that people are deeply annoyed by iNat right now, but despite its deep flaws, I hope people can see that a better iNat, both the site functionality and the community, is worth fighting for.

I don't know which version of this frog I like better. The left is much brighter and kind of glowy, but the the right has better contrast. Hmm.
