Without new funding, Philadelphia's SEPTA transit system will begin implementing major service cuts on Aug 24/25, which would include cutting dozens of bus routes & 5 regional rail lines.

New state transit funding must be secured by August 14 in order for #SEPTA to avoid implementation of a 20% service cut—beginning August 24—to close a recurring budget deficit.

I don't think anyone fully recognizes how apocalyptic these Septa cuts are for those of us who can't afford cars. Philly is so fucked.

Five Philadelphia cops were fired for allegedly assaulting or threatening women. They’ve all been reinstated. Two arbitrators appointed by the Fraternal Order of Police overruled the five terminations of Philly cops. A citizens oversight group said the outcomes are "concerning."

Really cool that the Fraternal Order of Police (union, my ass: more like a fraternity) appoints arbitrators to rule on cops getting fired because they were violent to those they're supposed to be protecting and serving (yes, even suspects count, asshole).

$910,841,000.00 in local highway and bridge funding could be put to better use with SEPTA. Starve the contractor grifters who fund your political opposition and strengthen your base of power. A simple calculus, tbh

$143,000,000.00 from the Legislature. If Senate Republicans cannot be bothered to return to Harrisburg to pass a budget, they need not be concerned with collecting salaries and having their support staff funded.
