I had a reply saying I was wrong but now I'm not seeing it. However! I was wrong! But I was also apparently thinking of not a whistlepig or a woodchuck, but a rock chuck (or slightly different species of marmot).

How much rock could a rock chuck chuck if a rock chuck could chuck rock?

Huh! My prairie dog assumption was wrong. However, I was apparently actually thinking of the yellow-bellied marmot or rock chuck (thus the altitude/rock comments). Fascinating thing about them: antifreeze is not poisonous to them so they will absolutely chew through your hoses to get to it.

Ok, marmots and groundhogs are definitely different. Marmots are much chubbier and love at higher altitudes. They also like rocky areas and not creating warrens underground. If, that is, a groundhog is like a prairie dog, which was always my interpretation.

I thought whistlepigs were marmots? Maybe it's a regional nickname thing.

I've been reposting too much and saying too little about Steven STEVEN. Let's fix that a bit. Here he is holding down vampire book #1 for the month (Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil) and crashing out on the extra blanket (finally kinda fall in atl!)

Wow what a surprise, who would have imagined Jewish practices would get swept up in eugenics policies masquerading as protection of children?

The "set aside the art from the artist" thing in this case is moot. Harry Potter money now goes right to destroying the human rights of trans persons. A billionaire who got her ass kissed for two decades got a rebuke and now she's got to wreck the lives of others.

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

Really, truly amazing that OpenAI wants us to believe that they are worth a trillion dollars but also they are so desperate for revenue that they created an infinite SlopTok app that opens them up to a billion lawsuits just so that they can maybe someday make it even worse by filling it with ads.

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
