Have both BBC2 and BBC3 with picture in picture on the telly so can watch Scotland and Wales at the same time.

They clearly have never been to either Albert Square in Manchester or New Street in Birmingham, where the prices have always been expensive. I can remember the bratwurst being Β£8 a few years back!

17.11.2025 13:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We're still trying to find out who did compose that music. LaLa of Remix64 fame has been doing some digging amongst Hungarian developers, but no joy (as yet). The search continues.
17.11.2025 12:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For the C64 owners amongst us, Mat (Witchfinder1976) has an excellent series called The Commodore 64 Compilation Comparison where he reviews them. Lots of in-depth coverage, mentions of magazine reviews and adverts too, and all footage captured from real hardware

What a weekend for Manchester City's women's team. They tonked Manchester United 3-0 in the Manchester derby, and then both Chelsea and Arsenal had draws on Sunday, meaning a very healthy league table so far. Got to keep going, but promising at least!

Time for some Commodore 64 arcade rip-off action via @bloggospow.bsky.social as four games that are a slight resemblance to arcade machines are played. There's a bona fide C64 classic in there, and nods to soundtracks from Chris HΓΌlsbeck and the late Ben Daglish.

Aye, it is just frustrating when on board and you know there's roadworks up ahead which you'll be stuck in (Lambeth Bridge in this case) and that eats up more time...
14.11.2025 12:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At the time, it's easy to be enticed by the superb Rob Hubbard version of the soundtrack in the C64 version. However, only three levels are present in that conversion which meant plenty of the game was missing, only fixed by the later Commando Arcade update in 2015.

Nothing on a London bus is more painful than:
"The driver has been told to wait at this bus stop for a short time, to help even out the service."
I take a look at Frenesis, a very different and colourful game from Mastertronic on the Commodore 16 and Plus/4. Will the gameplay match the splashes of colour, or does it leave you feeling nauseous? Find out:

It will not surprise anyone that Erling Haaland has scored two more goals for Norway tonight in their World Cup qualifier (and 14 in this group stage!), as they lead Estonia 4-1. If Italy fail to beat Moldova later, then Norway are through.

12.11.2025 21:31 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The front cover of Cabaret Voltaire's Drinking Gasoline EP. At the top left, the lettering for Cabaret is horizontal, with Voltaire diagonally upwards with the A meeting in the middle. The cover is mainly blue and white with four film strips depicting scenes from the Gasoline in Your Eye video in the middle.
Hard to believe it's 40 years this year that this superb Cabaret Voltaire 2 x 12" EP Drinking Gasoline was released. Four superb tracks and glad I picked up the initial CD reissue when that came out (hard to find now) and I have the original vinyl too.
12.11.2025 11:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Picked up the reissue CD of the Buckingham-Nicks album at the weekend. My father had the original 1973 LP (which I have now) so finally hearing this remaster gives me happy memories. And Frozen Love of course was the catalyst for the two of them joining Fleetwood Mac, so important historically too

12.11.2025 10:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A further update follows on the Blingboard and Commodore 64 Ultimate. For context, Christian Simpson had posted a response to yesterday's campaign update.

Here was the BBC press release where they mentioned the Chelsea and the Man U games being shown.
Just need my lot (Man City) to do the business this season and get back there!
