‘A bonkers gig’: how heavy metal bands are helping keep UK church organs alive
Surprise musical pairing lets ancient instrument reach new audiences in concerts with heavy rock bands
Do you have an actual organ? I've heard about doom metal bands performing alongside pipe organs and it seems like the coolest imaginable thing

Linocut block print of the Statue of Liberty, sitting down on her pedestal with her hands over her eyes. She is crying. Words next to her say "it's so hard to be loved by idiots." The print is black and white, in a cartoony style.
Found some older prints while cleaning up. This is from 6 years ago, but still feels relevant.

What's it like painting on aluminum? Do you like it? I've always been curious about it as a surface

Genuinely one of the most unhinged places on earth. Saw a guy sponge bathing with paper towels in the last airport bathroom I was in. Just mind boggling stuff

Abstract, textural landscape, with blues, greens, and a brown stripe that kinda looks like hills
Another abstracted landscape with yellow, green, and purpley blues
Hey nice work! I love the gelli plate with acrylics, they're really rewarding to experiment with. If you tape down one side of your paper and keep the gelli plate in the same place, you can do lots of layers which is very fun imo

The Frog & Toad audiobook (read by Lobel) is a constant check-out from the library on the Libby app, for similar reasons. It's top tier imo

Braithwaite's pyramid of assumptions is relevant here, I think. Some folks might have an emotional/instinctual resistance to recognizing that "elites" are not virtuous citizens, even though it's fairly obvious at this point

Those illustrations have lived in my head since I was a child, especially the donut machine and the bank robbers story. I didn't even know about make way for ducklings until I was an adult, but McCloskey's pencils are sublime

Did you see Monty Don's Master Crafts on the BBC? Only six episodes, and not really a competition show, more just about the revival of old craft in the UK. I remember there was a green woodworking one, and also one on thatching roofs? Very good historical craft content

Welcome to the public domain, THE SKELETON DANCE (1929). 🎞️ 🎶👻 Walt Disney Studios' first Silly Symphony cartoon is a wordless masterpiece of synchronized animation & music featuring dancing skeletons in a graveyard.

The cover of the book "Learned Pigs & Fireproof Women" Unique, eccentric and amazing entertainers: stone waters, poison resisters, daredevils, singing mice, etc. by Ricky Jay. The cover features 19th century illustrations of circus acts listed on the cover.
Dude also wrote a history of magic/circus acts with one of the best titles ever
