I think the change would fix something that felt unintuitive when I was learning the commander rules. When playing limited, hybrid is used often even if it’s only half in-color, so I was confused as to why it could count against a deck’s color identity.

I remember being confused why hybrid didn’t work with the color identity rules when I first started learning about commander. I think the current rule puts hybrid in a weird place that goes against the reason hybrid mana is used by design.
