But assume it doesn't.

PE runs ~1/4 of for-profit hospitals in the US. As far as I'm aware, it hasn't been a regulatory, professional, ethical problem with regard to doctors or nurses.

So what makes law so special?

I don't see it. 4/4

But, if the regulators serve primarily to enforce the guild monopoly, the downsides are sort of illusory, aren't they?

And the regulatory structure could change. It has changed elsewhere. 3/

Upsides are increased resources and the ability to sell investments based on their future value, both of which should promote badly needed innovation. Downsides come from weaker regulation, assuming the status quo regulatory structure holds. 2/

Thanks. I'll admit, that didn't help. UPL can't be hollowed out, it is already a shell. What you seem to be describing is a situation where capitalists who are outside a monopoly guild figure out how to compete with it, and are unregulated.

Just tried some high protein high fibre pancake mix for breakfast. Recipie makes three medium pancakes.

Not bad, flavor wise.

What they don't tell you is that eating three of them is more or less impossible.

I had 1.5, I won't need to eat again for three days, feels like.

One of my absolute favourite use cases.

Anyone providing automated pro bono legal services, you are WAY up there, too.

Pricing isn't set, and I don't really know if this is the path to follow.

That said... if you are interested in learning the skills of a legal profession of the future, and maybe thereby helping bring it into being, leave a comment!

And if you have followers who might be, share this with them.

A variety of people with a variety of use-cases who self-identity as motivated to explore the future of #RulesAsCode and legal knowledge representation and automation, interested in giving feedback, willing to learn an innovative new tool while it is still being built...

That would be awesome. 2/

Hey, #LegalTech friends. I'm toying with the idea of releasing Blawx v2 in a strictly limited paid beta, so as to increase the signal:noise ratio from new users.

There will be a free tier, unlimited if possible, but the features for which v2 was built including AI code generation would be paid. 1/

Blawx v2 has reached the testing stage.

Unless testing reveals large issues, it looks like it will be live by the end of the year.

Your policies suggest every decision is right or wrong in a vacuum, regardless of how they compare to one another.

That's what I mean by more subjective than is necessary.

Ironic, as consistency of application is one of the primary virtues of rule of law.

15.11.2025 17:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

We don't come up with laws for each person. Primarily, we are subjective about whether behaviour satisfied an annunciated standard. Only secondarily are we subjective about what the standard should be. And when we modify it, we do it explicitly, and it carries forward.

15.11.2025 17:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Agreed. Not my critique.

It's a nuanced, small thing, admittedly. But under your policies, there is no promise of impartial application. No obligation that the assessments of individual actions hold together collectively as a coherent application of a standard.

Was chatting with a friend about the lessons you learn from playing #Go.

I think the first and foremost is this:

Go is a perfect information game. You always know everything relevant.

And you are constantly failing to understand it.

Be humble about your own wisdom when faced with complexity.

If things are already out of hand, you can shut down WSL in PowerShell, then use the diskpart utility to select the file as a virtual disk, and compact it after tidying up.

This is a pain, and will take a really long time. Think defragging a hard drive circa 1992.

Keep your stick in the ice. πŸ’

Good hygiene is to delete images, volumes, and containers you don't need regularly. Look up the prune commands and filter by last use features of docker system, buildx, and builder, and maybe schedule them.

Hey friends. Using #WSL and #Docker Desktop on Windows? Fair warning that Docker is using a virtual drive to store its data, which can grow to accommodate more needs, but cannot automatically shrink.

Bad docker hygiene will eat your entire drive, eventually.

There's good hygiene, and a fix. 1/n

Yeah. I'm pretty sure you can put any descriptor in front of "questions", here, and get a yes.

If there is a type of question, it is regularly posed to AI. We can all rest in utter confidence of that.

I don't follow. What are the concerns?

I don't see an epidemic of unethical in-house and public sector lawyers. Firms also have profit motive.

Don't we need evidence the rules help before working around them is a problem?

Police say about 75 people commit an inordinate amount of crime in Calgary. Who are they? | CBC News Calgary police refer to them as 'high system users' β€” a relatively small number of individuals who have initiated 'hundreds of calls for service' for social disorder or crime. Here's how they break it...

This is a dangerously stupid way to look at the problem.

I know, let's take the 75 people that the justice system doesn't have any effect on, and justice system them HARDER. πŸ™„

The criminal justice system is in effect a badly-designed mental health system. Fix THAT.

I wonder if some people will begin to realize that being a pedophile sex offender is not his worst quality.

Epstein thought Trump was the worst person he knew, without a decent cell in his body.

Epstein clearly didn't mind pedophiles.

He is a narcissistic psychopath you RE-elected.

This is consistent with my experience with CoPilot.

Using an AI coding agent is a skill that needs to be acquired and honed. But it does accelerate your work.

The variety of models and the pace of change in them make it important to continue experimenting, too.

The Democrats resisted, and when they resisted, they won elections. So they stopped resisting.

Trump was in court arguing for the right to needlessly starve poor people to death.

A protest is designed to make authority look unsympathetic. It was working.

Now, people made sacrifices for nothing.

As of tonight, v2.0.0 of Blawx is feature and content complete.

Just QA and bug testing left before it can go live.

Looking forward to switching from making it exist to making it better. Has been years, at this point
