Now that I’m senior, I usually dress in whatever suits my fancy. But I will sometimes dress very feminine if I want a quick read on how well someone deals with women in the workplace…

When I was early career, I learned (the hard way) to dress as boringly and as non-descript as possible. I didn’t go full on super-baggy, but no skirts above the knee, no necklines that showed any hint of cleveage, no brightly colored patterns….

It’s a lot! (And it probably won’t slow down anytime soon…) So hard to watch — but they’re learning so many hard things about getting along in the world. That will serve them well. (And in 10 years they won’t remember today’s dramas, even tho you probably will…)
