My kiddo is making me watch Hamilton (online) next Sunday in honor of Leslie Odom Jr's last role reprisal. I've never actually seen the whole thing, just heard them play the soundtrack a million times. I'll keep an eye out for Samuel Seabury. #HATM

I need a close-up of that hearty-choke dessert, it looks disgusting from a distance.

She is adorable. We used to have one much like that, the black patch on top of her head was shaped like angel wings.

I hope the testing went as well as you could hope for!

The extreme heat from June 25 to 29, 2021 brought the temperature in Portland to 116F, killing 70 people in Multnomah County alone.

Museums had a rough 2025: Report shows lower attendance, lost grants, less money The American Alliance of Museums put out its annual industry snapshot and it's not great. Trump's targeting of museum programming had downstream effects and put a "chill on corporate philanthropy."

Colored light exhibit at Hopscotch in Portland. Black background, mandala-like circle of repeating colored lights, predominantly blues, greens and purples. It's slightly reflected on the dark floor.
For no purpose other than it's pretty.

Thanks for this! I also really enjoyed reading Rob Manning's reflections on how the system isn't built to meet students where they are and on how families appreciated being in this reporting.

A body of water is located in the foreground and occupies the center to the right of the photo. It is concrete lined with an iron fence around it. There are fir trees to the left and right side behind the water. In the extreme distance, a forest lined horizon is about 9/16 of the way up the photo. The sky is mostly cloudy but with light clouds. At the center horizon the sun has set behind the hill, with the sky lit up yellow-orange at that point. Rays of yellow-orange streak out of the point. Most of the clouds are lit up in a pink color, with a few dark purple areas.

This volcano sits in the middle of the southeast section of the city, and is considered to be extinct, and is thought to have been last active around 300,000 years ago.

In terms of how the food banks handle $, Charity Navigator would be my go-to before donating. However, it might not take into account other facets like food quality, delivery reach and efficacy, etc. (I haven't read it in detail on food banks)

Picture of a sign on a paddock gate. Sign has a picture of a cow and a lot of text that starts with title: MEET THE HEROES. Cow Blood and Rumen Fluid Donors. Then 2 paragraphs about how "in addition to donating blood to other cattle, this cow donates fluid from their rumen, which is the first and largest stomach compartment in ruminant animals" then has a 3rd paragraph titled DID YOU KNOW? talking about what ruminating means in this context, and a final paragraph and QR code that's cut off at end about the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital's Transfusion Medicine Program.
