Appearing on Amazon it seems; again, I am at present not involved in any marketing, and don't intend these posts to be that. I don't even have an account on Amazon for it to belong to, so some other chap can get the praise (or criticism!)

The full transcript of Wellington's work is in it, as I thought that very important that it should be in print.
Also has a "commentary" by me, as each time I read it I noticed more and more interesting parts that I felt needed explaining

Appears my book is online. I've not yet been sent any marketing information/material, so I don't plan to advertise it yet - I'd tell everyone to wait until Pen and Sword announce it. But, if anyone wants to read the synopsis, it is here.

It's a quote from O'Meara. Described Suchet, Clauzel and Gรฉrard as his best generals. Suchet was already a Marshal

Las Cases quoted him as saying Foy, Lamarque, Clauzel and Gรฉrard were his "new marshals". But all those St Helena ramblings have to be treated carefully

Four years ago today, we lost the supremely talented Meat Loaf (Michael Lee Aday). He was 74 years old. I saw him three times in concert in Birmingham - more than I've seen any other artist. He was unbelievable live. Especially when performing 'Paradise By the dashboard Light". #MeatLoaf

I was struck by how the ground the union was on was higher, so they'd be pouring a fire down into it, making it like a death trap

Having been there, it does seem to me a pretty terrible position for the Confederates to deploy. Was surprised as I was used to reading how strong it was, the sunken lane seemed a death trap

The main document I used for the book I've been working on was 25000 words by Wellington, and he spells names differently most times they appear within the one document - especially place names. Was a little irritating, but it also adds to the human factor of it

Lee. He kept up the pressure and attacks despite failures. A lesser general would have backed off. He was determined to annihilate the enemy, which was what was needed. Obviously he didn't, but the intention alone hands it to him.

ABOLITION OF SLAVERY. (Hansard, 17 May 1833)
An interesting piece I was re-reading last night.
Debate on slavery. Wellington, despite the pressure he applied on France to abolish the trade, is reluctant to do so in British colonies.
