time doesn't function in any sort of linear way in this universe. it's not the vision of a futurist - but of a lost idealist, holding out hope that dream could some day be revived. that's why i feel like even stuff like this video are appropriate uses of BoC music www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ik1...

Programmers are Clerics not Wizards. No INT required, only WIS.

Not surprised that people are trying to go the Warlock route with a CHA build.

Whoa, click through to download the famed 2003 โ€œDirectors Labelโ€ DVD collections of music videos by the masters (Gondry, Romanek, Jonze, Corbijn, Cunningham, etc) with commentary & extras, seemingly uploaded by Directors Label for the 20th anniversary. Incredible resource!

Played in a D&D game recently where the door to the Big Bad's workshop required solving riddles to pass through.

Deeply disappointed we never got the backstory for why this door existed. I want to see the argument in the Door Shop that led to this choice and why it was cheaper than a lock and key.

Mostly games with high skill ceilings or, I guess, privilege ceilings (collectible card games) for vicarious or educational motives.

Then there's games that riff with the performing player, be it dunking on a janky game, jumpscares, or some other dialogue with the game.

If you have a big square grid then diagonals make traversal less of a chore.

However, diagonals allow to swap parity which you either compensate for somehow or just accept that combat has movement jank.

Which is why a lot of devs like hex grids, but they don't make the best maps to explore..

Save 60% on Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society on Steam On the outskirts of town lies a mansion said to house the entrance to a maze overflowing with treasure. Do you wish to discover the magical mysteries hidden inside?

Sales shout-out to Labyrinth Of Galleria. Lowest price ever. A Wizardry-style dungeon crawl by the Disgaea team, which means it is an absurd, maximalist monster with unhinged mechanics (kick down walls!) and you can have a 40-character party.

Also runs amazing/low-battery drain on the Steam Deck!

Roomba Maker iRobot Files for Bankruptcy and Will Go Private (1) iRobot Corp., the company that revolutionized robot vacuum cleaners in the early 2000s with its Roomba model, filed for bankruptcy and proposed handing over control to its main Chinese supplier.

A new wrinkle in Roomba Quest lore as the company behind the roombas goes bankrupt:

(I guess they couldn't last much longer after roomba had been teleported to the end of the universe.)

Picked up ADOM on the Switch 2 but the controls don't work :(

You have to hold down d-pad directions for half a second or press them twice for it to register. The analogue joystick is similarly unreliable.

Nintendo make refunds on Switch near impossible, so you've been warned.

Moving player < Moving platforms < Moving crates

Each moving object is like a cigar you're trying to smoke at the same time.

If you want to live longer just don't have anything move except the player.

1st hour of Switch 2 notes:

* Default storage seems kind of large. Maybe I'm just used to Apple ripping me off.

* Can view trailers in the shop without stalling the device (a new feature). Shame no one shows gameplay.

* Demon's Tilt plays so much better (and it already ran fine on Switch 1).

you can't dissect a frog, take its heart out and say, this is the part that defines frog-ness. everything else is an appendix.

in the same sense, you can't dissect an art form, take one feature of it and says THIS IS THE ART. every one of its organs evolved in concert to keep the thing alive.

And yet Godot has an inclusive int random range which is so fucking annoying when trying to pick from an array.

I would not expect Clamp to be exclusive under any circumstances as its use is alongside Max and Min functions (also inclusive).

(I believe the confusion is coming from random number ranges which are almost always cursed.)

As an aside Godot's docs have a clearer definition:

Looking at the Thief class as an example, you're as powerful if not more so than a 5e Rogue at level 1. A lot of 1e clones would rather you suck eggs for a few levels and focus on loot.

SD's XP for just loot and throwing parties would go down well with my group.

Interested to play, eventually.

Having read through Shadowdark, it's quite interesting in that unlike other dungeonslops it appears to be branching from D&D5e into something streamlined instead of branching D&D1e and modernising it.

Inspiration points (luck) are still a thing. Yet Vancian casting and darkvision are gone.
