So, just for the sake of clarity, the emails are about using games as a learning tool, not as a money extraction tool. Even the snippet that people are going around with doesn't even mentions microtransactions either. Holman responds saying edutainment doesn't really work unless you mask the learning (example being Call of Duty and Medal of Honor teaching war history and another hypothetical example being a game that teaches you Japanese by rewarding you with attractive women when you learn a new word). Emails 3 and 4 (https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00695633.pdf) Epstein forwards Holman's message to Bobby Kotick asking for critique of what Holman is saying. Bobby Kotick (Activision CEO at the time) says it's a good idea but the key is real world rewards. You learn to read you get rewarded with cell phone minutes -or- iphone credits -or- virtual items in games Email 5 (https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%2010/EFTA01762201.pdf) Epstein forwards Kotick's response to Holman, Holman mentions indoctrinating kids into an economy and Kotick's example of real world rewards being virtual items in games. None of this relates to microtransactions at all really (unless someone stretches and say the learning to spend money = cool in-game items is what they are getting at, but judging by the emails that would wrong since that's not what they are talking about). Not only that but at least in CoD's case there was already an DLC framework in place with map packs and microtransactions in the form of gun camos in Black Ops 2 prior to these conversations.

they can't use chatbots or auto-responses to deal with paper mail. they can throw it away, but it can still be a problem.

As a user affected by the Australian rollout: they're lying about pre-verification. Every Australian Discord user with whom I regularly interact is over 30, but we were still all required to verify

Panel 1: In december the under 16 ban went into affect Discord mandated age verification. Between Face-scan and providing a photo ID, I thought I was safe with a scan Panel 2: My account was insta-suspended in under a minute, I am over 30 years old and it identified me as under 13 Panel 3: Discord gave me an ultimatum: give them a photo of me holding my ID or never use my account again Panel 4: I tried arguing I feared for my privacy; they have leaked ID before, I tried arguing I'VE BEEN PAYING THEM FOR 8 YEARS. They didn't listen Panel 5: I couldn't talk to most of my overseas friends for a month Panel 6: Looking for advice online: Turns out victims of the UK/AUS ban had it better than the norm; at least a person saw my complaints. Most suspension tickets are auto declined by bots; I cannot envision Discord scaling this for worldwide fairly Panel 7: I eventually complied, I'm pretty luck; I could get away with an expired license Panel 8: Currently discord is being hammered by people cancelling nitro subscriptions, I'd cancel mine if they hadn't had done it for me already Panel 9: my advice is this: Ensure Discord isn't your only point of contact with your friends

When I got banned due to this in Australia: for voice chat steam does work but it has no noise suppression so get ready to hear your friend's every slurp

For a chat forum Zulip looks decent but you have to convince all your friends to join a new program

And even then; the UK/Aus accounts going thru the discord support were still lucky because we still got processed by a person. Most bans are processed by boys that don't listen and auto deny you, I can't imagine what that situation will be like when it's every account

I can't cancel nitro because they already did that for me when they suspended my account and no way was I going to continue giving them money after that ordeal

As someone from Australia who was misidentified as a child by #discord face ID AI and had to go thru the fucking process of rectifying that (they auto shutdown your account so you can't even log in, the discord support is awful)

scratch that, its not about conspiracy- its easier to hold a single person accountable for all evil rather than the system

Epstein was just a very savvy middle-man for evil, a social lubricant & glue between very rich ogliarchs who have certain agendas and desires (that are usually fucking evil)

He was symptom of the systems of unchecked power, but its easier for a conspiracy theory to latch onto a person than a system

I will say I don't buy into the narrative of everything wrong in modern society past the turn of the century traces back to Epstein; for example I'm not American and was born in the same state as Rupert Murdoch who's been doing his evil for over half a century.
